10 Steps to a Happy Life

Look for opportunities to give appreciation in your daily life.

Every day, find someone to say thank you to. Make sure you are genuine. It’s easy to look down and grunt a thank you, but you will make a person feel valued if you give them eye contact and smile with that thank you.

Write a note, send an email, or call the person you are most thankful for and tell them why. You will make that person’s day, and, in return, you will feel amazing.

Please refer to the book for more details on this activity.

  • Timing: 1 times per Day

I start my morning with a thank you note...

"Thank you God for giving me a another that to cherish your wonderful creation - to be loved."

Do things that people will be grateful for.

Open your eyes to the many opportunities to help. There is always someone who needs a helping hand. Find them. Look for opportunities to do small tasks for other people Help with a suitcase, open a door, or help a confused person with a map!

Receiving gratitude is not something you should aim for. The aim is to do things for others selflessly. The world flows in many ways. You will receive gratitude and you will be happier for giving back.

  1. Think of what your biggest skill is, and then think of someone who might require that skill.
  2. Help them out.
  3. Tell them what book to read. Give them an hour of your time.
  4. It will come back to you in surprising ways. But you have to give in order to receive.

Please refer to the book for more details on this activity.

Sometime we need not to be rich to help someone. Just an act of kindness is enough.. I helped a kid today. Some other kids were making fun of the little boy. I felt so bad I couldn't resist to not to interfere. Later I got him back to his home. And he took me as his friend - oh! that was so so sweet..Nothing else could make me happier than this.

Lisa Smith 1766978

Simple thank you gives immense pleasure and happiiness that riches can't give. Gratitude can melt anyone's heart. If it doesn't you are cruel.

Lisa Smith 1766978

I went to the walmart today to get some of my stuffs. I saw an oold lady having difficulty with her shopping. I tried a little to help.. She blessed me for my efforts. Well, it wasn't a thank you - it was much more than it. I was ..actually I am super happy. Itell everyone to help others specially older and young kids.. without any expectations in return..

God returns your kindness with immense happiness!

Give thanks: By being accepting of what we have received and what we have been given, we can be grateful. And that gratefulness results in our happiness.

You do not need to be religious to be grateful, but to give thanks, you must be humble.

  1. Stop. Close your eyes.
  2. Think of the things you have – the relationships you have, the life you have received.
  3. Accept who you are, and be thankful. It could be as profound as the multi-faceted impact you have been able to make on this world, but it could as simple as what you learned today.
  4. And don’t just do that now. Do it tomorrow. Do it every day. Give thanks as much as you can,

Please refer to the book for more details on this activity.

  • Timing: 1 times per Day

Lisa Smith 1766978

I have started giving thanks..And noticed there is a huge change in my thought process. It really feels good.

Look to channel your inner kindness to help someone else because, as you now know, that kindness will boomerang right back to you.

  1.  Every day, look for someone to smile at.
  2.  Plan the unexpected for someone you know.
  3. Make kindness a priority. Whether you are rich or poor, old or young, we all have the opportunity to be kind. Do something unexpected today.
  4. The next time you are at the grocery store, let the person with only a handful of items go ahead of you. It’s easy to do and you’ll feel good about it.

Please refer to the book for more details on this activity.

Being an introvert person, I seldom hold back my smiles but that doesn't mean I am unkind. I just don't want people to think I am nosy or weird. everyone is busy. Well, I still do try but not religiously.

Lisa Smith 1766978

Each day got something noce for us. We just need to find it out and show some gratitude towards it. I am happy today I just realized when we help someone not thing about ourselves, there is some peace. When I bring smimle to someone's face; that is what happiness is.

Lisa Smith 1766978

5 Research-based reasons why one should be kind. For mw I don't have to make an effort.. it's reason 1 ..it's inbuilt.

The science is clear. Volunteering makes you happy! The more satisfaction you get, the better you will feel, and the more likely that you will continue volunteering.

  • Look where you go where you like to spend time and then see if there is an opportunity there.
  • The first thing to do is to understand your benchmark or what you might like.
  • Walk into your local charity of choice and ask them what kind of volunteering help they need.
  • It’s an easy step to take. But if charity is not for you, then find the activity that you are interested in and ask. If you are in full-time work but want to give back something to the community, then helping out with homeless shelters is ideal as only a few hours commitment every year is what they need.
  • If you want to give back time on a regular basis, many nurseries and schools welcome parents to give a little time every few weeks to help with story time sessions.
  • Local libraries also welcome any additional volunteering time, too. What you do need to do is just ask because if you don’t, you will never know what you are missing out on.

Please refer to the book for more details on this activity.

  • Timing: 1 times per Day

Help others realise the obstacles they may face, through your own experience and knowledge can help change someone else’s trajectory.

  1. Make sure that your network and your extended network know your skills and capabilities. That might be writing a small post on social media or volunteering to do a talk on a specific topic.
  2.  And start putting yourself out there with groups that you think might value from your advice.

Please refer to the book for more details on this activity.

As a matter of fact I want to help others with my experience. I have however, realized that there are certai rules to it... Figured out 8 rules of mentoring.

Lisa Smith 1766978

We always need some guidance and help to overcome difficult situations. Either, we need a friend or elder person to guide us and show the right way. I haave experience of depression and it was an awful struggle but today I am out of it. I really feel happy when I can help others in same situation.

Lisa Smith 1766978

Okay, today I am socially active. I have joined few groups and trying to help once with depression. I have overcome my depression after a long fight.

Within each of us, there is something special that can only be unlocked if we aim for happiness. You need to give to yourself.

  1. It’s a difficult task to do properly but get a clean piece of paper and write your name at the top. Underneath, I want you to write down three things: one, who you are; two, what your main goals in life are (keep it to five things maximum); and three, why you are amazing.
  2. Sit down, close your eyes, and think about what you want from life. Once you have mastered the art of meditation, try and make it regular with the same time every day.
  3. Close your eyes for five minutes and think about yourself. If you are reading this in public, look down and close your eyes for an instance. No one will notice. Think about you and why you are amazing. Remember, if you are amazing, you can help others be amazing too.

Smiling is extremely beneficial for both our Health whether it is of body or mind. So keep smiling. I am trying it.

Lisa Smith 1766978

I remembered I first tried it in ma college. It was something I never thought actually works - but it does wonderfully. Now I do it every morning. It started with 5 minutes, now for 30.

Lisa Smith 1766978

Much relaxed and focused. Meditation also change the way I look at things.

Lisa Smith 1766978

This picture motivates me inspires me for those 10 minutes. I find some strange peaceful silence - beyond words.

Lisa Smith 1766978

I visualize myself doing what I love to nd it make the medittion more easier and longer. This time, I get motivated from within. I feel energized and happy.

Lisa Smith 1766978

I have tried mantra meditation earlier but this is something new and I loved it. I didn't know but I actually meditated for around 15 minutes without losing my focus.

Lisa Smith 1766978

I can do it only for 10 minutes. I set a timer before I do so - otherwise I would simply give up in a couple of minutes. Such a restless person I am.

Your impact alone could help thousands more to realise their happiness.

Find an excuse to do the good deed. The most important thing to remember is that you want to create a chain effect with your good deeds. It’s great to commit to the good deed, but the receiver must understand that to prolong the chain of happiness, they need to reciprocate by committing the same positive act.

  1. Tell your friend, neighbor or colleague that you are undertaking the Pay It Forward initiative and that you would like to do something to help them out so ask them how you can make their world a better place.
  2. You could make sandwiches for your work colleagues, or make cookies. Then suggest that they do the same for someone else.…. now watch the fairy dust return back to you someday!

Please refer to the book for more details on this activity.

  • Timing: When you get a chance, just initiate.

Lisa Smith 1766978

Pay it forward is a nice action. I started it today. In office, I actually helped a collegue with her work - she offered me a treat. I asked her instead she can do something good for others someone neey. Pass on the good work.

People are naturally drawn to those who are popular and who have a reputation for being nice, honest, and supportive. If you keep these qualities close to your heart, you will eventually attract the love of others

If you don’t have the time to dial a phone number, text messaging and emails are a great approach and if you have friends abroad, arrange a suitable time to speak. Please do not use social media to replace time to call a close friend.

  1.  Decide on your five today, and arrange a call, skype, or meet. So get to your email or phone and send the following message: “We haven’t caught up properly in ages. Let’s get together!”
  2. If you can think who your friends were ten years ago, and you can stomach doing this, then send them the following message: “Not sure what happened, but we seem to have become former friends.
  3.  Would be great to catch up with you!” People generally appreciate the candour. And those who don’t reply usually don’t deserve any more effort.
  4.  So arrange that face to face, phone call, or Skype, right now! Once you meet up, you’ll wonder why it took you so long to get reconnected!

Please refer to the book for more details on this activity.

  • Timing: When you get a chance, connect with your friends.

Lisa Smith 1766978

I gets more depressed when alone. When I get upset I call my friends. It helps a lot to keep my mind occupied. Depression otherwise can be deadly.

We can’t all devote our lives to being fully altruistic, but by devoting ourselves to an altruistic life, we can achieve great happiness. Happiness Bubbles is all about giving, which is all about being altruistic.

Firstly, think about your life and how much free time you have. Altruism is about what you have available to give. Altruism is all about doing a good deed without the expectation of reward.

Think about a skill or expertise you have such as business planning, accountancy, medical, childcare, law, teaching, etc., and how you could use this specific skill to help others who may not necessarily have the finances or who may just want some extra knowledge in that field.

Please refer to the book for more details on this activity.

  • Timing: When you get time.

I am trying to give away consultation of healthy living with serious health disorders. I have suffered a lot from depression. I have learnt a lot from my life and how to overcome the negativity - I would like to share it with others. I am going to join some forums and planning to have a group on facebook!

Lisa Smith 1766978

Don't know if I can do anything big enough but I am somewhere connected with animals. When I see a stray dog looking at me passing by, I feel the eyes were calling onto me for a cuddle. They deserve home, warm bed and food - I am going to do something about it. I am a working person now - I can put in some to help them. Further, I wish if I could volunteer some rescue group.
